Katrina Pura is an American landscape and portrait painter based in the Central Coast of California.

She received a BS from Stanford University and went on to pursue her passion in art by studying classical painting in Florence, Italy for three years. Using various mediums, including oil, hand prepared canvas and watercolor, she finds the connection to material preparation aids in the authenticity of working with nature.

She draws particular inspiration from her ranching heritage and the discovery of other rural scenes across the globe.

“I remember that the Gabilan Mountains to the east of the valley were light… full of sun and loveliness, and a kind of invitation, so that you wanted to climb into their warm foothills almost as you want to climb into the lap of a beloved mother”

(Steinbeck, East of Eden)
